Tidechart Information
This system will allow you to obtain tidal predictions computed by CO-OPS for more than 3000 water level stations and tidal current predictions for more than 2700 tidal current stations. The publication of full daily predictions is limited to locations referred to as "reference stations". The remaining stations are referred to as "subordinate stations". Tidal predictions for the subordinate stations can be obtained by applying specific differences to the times and heights of tides at the specified reference stations. Tidal current predictions for subordinate stations can be obtained by applying specific time and speed differences to the times and speeds of tidal currents at the specified reference station.

Title Here
The list of subordinate stations has been broken down into states and other areas in which predictions are available. Each state is further broken down into regions. Each region provides a list of stations in the area. The stations are listed geographically; thus, stations that are near each other along the shoreline are similarly located in the listing. This simplifies locating a station of interest. It is important to note that tide stations and tidal current stations are separate listings. Tide stations are normally located along the shoreline; at a pier, jetty, breakwater or other physical structure.

Sea Levels
The rate of mean sea level rise or fall has been determined for 117 long term water level stations. Monthly mean sea level data were used to obtain the linear trend, the average seasonal cycle, and the interannual variations. The linear trend at a coastal location is primarily a combination of the global sea level rise and any local vertical land movement. The seasonal cycle and interannual variations are caused by fluctuations in coastal ocean temperatures, salinities, winds, atmospheric pressures, and currents. The interannual variations for many Pacific stations are closely related to the El Niño/Southern Oscillation. Assuming no change in trend, the time series of interannual variations are extended up to the latest month and maps are created to show the regional extent of anomalously high or low water levels.
