R.I.P Big Gryph dog..

Hey guys I havent really wanted to say anything but I would like you guys to know about the best dog i ever had, his name was Gryphon and he just turned three years old.
Gryphon was a American Bulldog who had a personality all of his own. He was a dog that would have spoken to you if he had a vocal box. Gryphon was not only a well trained guard dog which I raised since he was 11 weeks old along with my red nose pitbull who is nine years old who eventually became his new found mother and teacher of all dog things, but he was by many standards my best freind ever.
Myself and Gryph had a special bond, he was always by my side. Gryphon was a very large dog, weighing an impressive 170lbs. Dont get me wrong he was shaply and mostly muscle. The American Bulldog breed was originally bred and trained to take care of problem animals on propertys such as wild boars, and bears. Gryphon somehow blew out his knee which was obviously very painful, although he never made a peep about it he simply could not move around, or lay down.
After a full day and night of watchful eyes, myself, a long time freind and my father, took Gryphon out to our veterinary where our sadness was confirmed. The cost and other obstacles such as transporting him because he could not walk was to great. We had to come to a decision which seemed made far too quick. I know it was in his best interest know though. He was in pain. My boy is gone, but his unconditional, love, freindship and loyalty lives on with me forever.

I'm sorry for your loss. I can't remember if this quote is from a book, but someone once said: "If they are still in your memories, then they are still alive".

Beatiful dog. That was a really hard, unselfish decision that you had to make. I know it must have been tough. My dogs are like part of my family. It's hard to go anywhere without them. Wish you the best.

LUv2fish. Sorry. Been so busy working that I missed this thread. I'm a huge dog lover and I actually use to be a licensed AHT (Animal Health Technologist) I worked for Oxnard Veterinary Hospital (Dr. Feingold) and Moorpark Veterinary Hospital (Dr. Schwartz) before I broke into the music business at 20 years old.

I love Bracheal Saphalic dogs (Bracheal Saphalic = dogs with shmushed noses). I absolutely love American Bulldogs,I'm actually looking at getting an English myself. I use to raise Boxers which are my absolute favorite dogs in the world.

Sorry about your buddy, he was an absolutely beautiful boy.

[size=2]Yeah I thought aboutit, but i did not want another AB because i relized I do not have the adequate property that an AB needs they are working dogs and they should have plenty of room to roam. It has been just over a month now since he passed. I already purchased a pup to fill in his shoes. HIs name is Gyro and he is an APBT (American Pit Bull Terrier). THis was not to replace Big Gryph, but to fill in a void in my heart. I have done this after losing dogs throught my life. I can post pics if you would like to see him. He is from Guerra Kennels in Santa Maria. you can see his grandfather (Prophet on guerra.com) under big dogs. So far s ogood hes awesome and i love him. He is 17 weeks old I got him at 14 weeks. If you are thinknig of an AB ask me anything you would like to know.

Awww how cute. Good looking pup. How did your Red nose take to the new dog?

I can't tell form the pix ...is your Red nose an American PBT or is it a Staffordshire Terrier? (not the american "Am Staff, but the actual English Staffordshire Terrier?) of which the American Staffordshire Terrier evolved and then the APBT evloved from that. The Am Staff has a tad bit thinner head than the APBT. The English Staff Terrier looks like the Am Staff (with the thinner face) but is a bit taller.

Kinda confussing huh?
