The hottest fishing shoe to come around in a long time!
I just bought brand new fishing shoes. It's a Fishing/ Deck/ Water Sandal. Made for offshore use on deck, as well as stream and river fishing. Made by Keen footwear company; it's called the Newport H2. They're about $100. I bought the "Charcoal/Royal" color pair. Check 'em out:

I also got a pair of the higher cut version called the "Hood River":

I'll use the higher cut pair if I'm fishing in shorts as opposed to deck pants, so I can protect my ankles better
When the weathers hot, I'll use them bare foot, but if it's too cold I have 100% waterproof neoprene socks made by Hodgeman that fit inside the sandal really well.

Tony they look like a nice pair of wading sandals, but $100 is a little to much.. I bet you didn't pay full retail. i need to find a pair just like those sandles, just something under a $100

I can see wearing those on a blistering hot deck, or maybe when sailing, but I think I'll keep my deck boots. For what I do, they're muy bueno.

Eric,
Actually I don't have a contact with the Keen company so I did pay full retail. They're actually 89.99 and with tax around $100. They are actually manufactured to be a Deck sandal and also they market them as stream / river wading sandals.

Wreck,
Actually, believe it or not, they offer more protection than a deck boot. The toe on these are virtually indestructable. I will use them on hotter days without a sock or if I'm wearing shorts, but on colder days I have a totally waterproof "just past ankle high" neoprene sock that fits nice and snug in the Deck sandal. The neoprene sock is made by Hodgman and is warm as hell! As as was telling Eric, they market them as a deck/fishing shoe and as a stream wading sandal.

Some people just don't like their feet wet when their fishing. Me, I'm happy wearing sandals and getting wet, but I wear my deck boots.

I saw a nice pair at sandles at sportsmart this last weekend and i am just waiting for them to go on sale. buy one get one free type of ad.Sorry to hear you had to pay full retail..Getting some great deals sure seems to be one of the great benifits of your job. I always enjoyed all the free sporting events i was able to get free tickets from in my last job. Every job needs to give you that something extra..

Yeah Sean, I actually don't mind my feet wet when I fish either, but it's the really cold days that will make me wear those neoprene socks!

Well of course you're gonna wear leg or hip wadders when it's cold, but when summer comes the option for a good stream shoe is great for hot days and also good for being on deck, offshore when the weather warms up.

Andrew,
I believe they do. Mine are size 11 and they actually brought out size 12's on accident, so I believe they do make 14's.
See Andrew, you understand the California/ Mexico fishing style interms of sportfishing wear. Everyone wants to wear their rubber deck boots and jeans which are cool; I mean I even own rubber deck boots, but California anglers have a style all thier own. You look at Florida and Gulf states...those anglers have thier Bermuda shorts, deck tennis shoes or sandals and a button up flats type long sleave shirt, and that's the style for that region; north west and north east fisherman wear their yellow suspendered slickers, deck boots, etc. and that's their style; but Southern California and Baja anglers have that sportfishing tropical / extreme cutting edge style...kind of adopted from the world wide style of Bill fisherman or even surfers....baggy offshore water proof deck pants or baggy knee high shorts, and cool fishing t-shirt, Teva style water shoes or deck sandals, a fishing towel clipped to your belt, etc. Just relaxed and layed back. You know 'Cause you fish Mexico alot, and that's how they do it in Mexico!
It's just comfortable to fish that way, huh?
