TUBE!
Hey guys thursday will be the first time in my tube. I got it for my 16 th birthday this month. Its the creek company odc 420. I was just wondering if the tube needs to be very firm or should you be able to squeezt it. Because my tube when I inflate it doesnt get very firm, as in i can push the tube in somewhat. That bottom on it is the same, its not very hard, but decent! There are some ripples still on he cover but they will eventually fade. Also, what a good place to store an exra rod and net on the tube? Also Irvine doesnt require life vests do they. The reason being is I am not sure if I can get on until Friday! Thanks for the help!

The more firm it is the faster you'll get around on it and the more maneuverable it'll be. Have fun!

This is the tube I got at the Fred Hall show and I have now used it twice and I love it! What are you using to inflate it? I try and get mine as firm as possible without over inflating it. I know its hard to guess but you will find out what works best for you through trial and error.
I keep my net along with a small plastic cooler behind the seat of my tube for live bait and anything I dont want to get wet I keep in the cooler.
You want to buy some strap on holders for your fishing rods ASAP, other wise you will risk loosing a rod overboard. They are only around $10 bucks at Turners.
I also suggest buying or making an anchor. I made mine using 25 feet of nylon rope, two aluminum carabiners and a 5lb dumbell weight, its works better than the folding anchors you can buy and it will only cost you less than $15 bucks to make.

Thanls guys. I have the inflator that can work out of the car ot house. It includes 110 - 120 volt ac adaptor and a 12 volt dc power coed. My tube still seems to be somewhat soft. I think it is fine though! Most of the ripples are out but a few on the end. I can somewhat push the tubing in. Not alot. Ya i was going to ask about the water in the back, I totally forgot that the water goes through the holes on the bottom of the tube. Truthfully, I never noticed them!

I am working on a system made from PVC and some kind of netting (if I can find it) that I can place over the rear space and use it for dry storage, kind of like a suspended basket.

someone should attach a sail to their float tube, that would be "off the hook"
