Tony i would go for California fly fisher and fly fishing and tying journal... cal flyfisher has a good article on fishing the owens this month. a good read..

Man, I forgot about Tying Journal.

Yeah, I read the article on fishing the Owens. I read that Magazine from front to back, every issue. Isn't that just an incredible magazine Eric!? I absolutely love that magazine. It really gets down and to the point. It really makes you feel like it's worth reading, because you can read about a certain location and in most cases go and fish that spot the same day.

You got that right tony. When we read most of the fishing mags it is about locations that maybe one day we will get a chance to fish. Nothing like getting good local info..

Exactly! the beautiful thing about that mag is evethough it's a fly fishing mag, any type of angler could read it and benifit 100% from the info. Again, I love that magazine!

I like Fly Fisherman and American Angler, both include a lot of information with great pictures. Great helper illistrations as well.

Yeah, I know the anniversary ones are more expensive, around 5.99 or 6.99.

The same publishers of American Angler also have a Fly Fishing publication called Gray's Sporting Journal...that one's really expensive. Then again, all my subscriptions to international magazines (Blue Water-Australia/New Zealand; Canadian FlyFisher -Canada; Carpin - U.K., etc.) all run me between $50 -$80 buck per year!
