What the hell is it? - California Fishing

There's this picture of someone holding a weird fish, that keeps popping up on the "Random Picture" sceen on the Home page of this site. It looks like it has "cauliflower mouth", does anyone know what the heck that is?? With all my fishing knowledge you'd think I'd know...I feel dumb....

Now that I look at it more........That's a wicked looking fish....I've caught alot of ugly fish in my day, but I don't even know if I'd want to land that one!

That's not a real fish, I think? Look how the guy is grabbing it like its rubber. And theres seems to be no slime or moisture on the fish and all little scraps on the skin like on old rubber strected.

if u look closely on the rightside of the pic. on his hand, there is the fish fat or whatever rolling on him, i dont think rubber could do that unless it was really really really soft.

I think you're right. Now that you say it, I see the resemblence. I'm more familiar with the fresh water wolf eel, but they both do have some similarities. Thanks......it's still uglier that sh#%

Tunakid was right. It's a wolf eel. I remember talking to lurch about that when he first added it. Crazy looking fish!

thats one ugly fish but sure is real. would be interesting to catch one.
