Fishin Blues

Other than actual fishing does anyone have a cure for the fishin Blues?, its been almost three weeks since I've been fishing and it looks to be another couple of weeks before I get to go again. The weather sucks eggs and my dad is currently recovering from double bypass surgery and its going to be tough to find the free time for me to go.
I have been going through my tackle re-arranging things and I have some post X-Mas gifts still due in the mail but I think its eventually going to start making things worse if I keep playing with my toys. When I walk past my rods my hands have began to shake and I actually thought about practicing my casting into my street when it was full of rain water a couple of days ago.
Its getting so bad that I found myself thinking about bringing a small rod & reel to work with me to chase some goldfish that are in a small pond next to an office building I work at.
If I get a break in the weather I think I might go over to my local park lake and look for leftovers for a couple of hours, (I have to buy my 2005 O.C. Park Pass anyway) but its going to be really muddy.

I hear ya. To quote our notorious predecessor to Dub-ya, "I feel your pain" ( ). I've been off from work since about 2pm on New Year's Eve, but family entanglements and the foul weather have conspired to ruin every chance I had of getting on the water. I return to work tomorrow. I can't possibly go fishing until Friday, at the soonest, and chances are good that it will rain again on Friday. I think it's time to buy a new rainsuit. Rain might be a factor in trout fishing this winter.

I know that "L.N.L." gets turned upside down when it rains hard and when I fished "The Vine" after a rainstorm it was muddy too. Does "S.A.R.L." get real dirty water or does its urban location keep it fairly clear? I really need to go fishing if even for just a few hours and "S.A.R.L." is closer to my home than any other pay lake. Its probibly going to be a couple of weeks before "L.N.L." is worth the trip again...

It looks like its going to stop raining by Tuesday so NEXT weekend is looking kinda promising, I will probibly be going to "L.N.L." on Saturday unless anybody wants to split a boat rental at "The Vine".
