Opinions on University of Oregon?
So it's come to that time in my college career where I need to start putting a lot of thought into where I need to transfer to. Lately I've been giving serious thought about going to the University of Oregon. I've visited the campus before, and it's very nice and very pretty. I'm planning on majoring in Business Marketing, and obtaining my Masters, and from what it looks like they have a great program there. Currently I meet all the transfer requirements, and after this semester I could easily transfer (I probably wouldn't though until the Fall of 2009). So what do you all think? Any opinions on the campus?

If you want to be a duck then it's perfect!! Hell, as long as you get your degree and accomplish your goals, that's all that counts!! You have to do what's best for you and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks!!

Nah I don't want to go that far out of state. Oregon is the farthest I'd go, and I have family up there. Plus the fishing kicks ###. Well, it does in Florida too but I'd rather go to Oregon for the salmon and stuff.

Go to ASU and party like there is no tomorrow . No, seriously though, you should consider the UC/CSU schools as you are eligable for scholarships and grants that you wouldn't normally get going out of state.

What do you want to do with your degree? Where do you see yourself working? What industries are you interested in?
Also, are you going to enroll in an MBA program directly after you finish your BA/BS?
If you're going to go directly into an MBA program, I'd stick close to home to save some cash. State schools would be a good choice and are inexpensive. After you graduate, then apply to a more prestigious school for your MBA like Berkeley, USC, or Pepperdine. Those schools would open a lot more doors for you because of the reputation.
I think University of Oregon would be a fine choice if you want to move to Oregon. But why pay out of state tuition when we have some great universities in CA?!

If I was going to stay within state, I would go to CS Fullerton. However, I can also apply for residency in Oregon, I have two sets of relatives who live there and I can easily get an Oregon drivers license.

Or stay in town and tell them you moved out of state. That way you keep your friends and your family still doesn't know where you are.

Pick your school because it fills your career goal needs not because you are trying to run away, if that is the case we'll just fake your death and you can stay in CA for school. We'll just say there is no body he was taken whole in NPH by a spottie.
Another thing you might want to consider is cost to venture out of state vs local. Not sure if your parents are footing the bill or you are for college but I do not recommend thinking you will get by on some minimum wage job up there and student loans. You can run up some serious debt with student loans and there is no way to get out of them if you can't pay later, thats why you pay for college with credit cards then file for bankruptcy after you graduate lol no don't do that. But seriously nothing worse than finishing school in major debt and then find out there is no work for you or no one is hiring in that field "especially with the way this economy is heading".
But if you do go to Oregon we'll drive up to make fun of you, I mean fish with you. You were in all of our thoughts memorial weekend while at camp and fishing.
