What kind of rods/reels do you have?
I was just curious, what kind of rods and reels do you guys have? I have:
Reels:
Shimano Cardiff CDF100
Shimano TR 100G
Okuma Metaloid MD20
Okuma Avenger AV15
I have about 6 others, but they are cheap
Rods:
Daiwa Heartland Trout Rod
GLoomis Passage 4wt Fly Rod
I also have about 8 others, but they are crap or not that good.
I am upgrading all my gear right now, and i'm going to buy a calcutta 700s soon.

Reels - About every style of Newell they make, Penn 4/0 (5 all narrow Tiburon kits), 6/0 (narrow Tiburon kit), 9/0, and a 10/0 some where. Shamano tld 20-30-50 2 speeds. Some Calcuttas and others that I cant think of at the moment.
Rods- Calstar, Seeker, G-Loomis, Graphite USA, Phoenix, Harnell, Shakarie, Truline. Maybe more?

Personally I do not like any Calcutta over the 250. The Handel makes the reel seem so out of balance. I would buy Newell 300 or 322. It like a narrow jigmaster size, you can throw bait, plastics and jigs very well on it. I would say it is about the best all around reel.
Edit-
The shamano tld is an awesome reel. I have mine blue printed and am able to cast a large sardine on my 50 with 60 lb line. A couple of years ago they had a problem with the base breaking of on fish as small as 75 lbs. but I am sure they have fixed that by now.

eck how you guys can actually use plastic pieces of junk (Newells) I dont know. I have seen the handles break off, the side plates literally explode, and heck couldnt even develop their own internals they stole them from Penn... Of course so did Accurate. If you want a graphite reel get one with a metal backbone... The Penn GS series. Just my 2 pennies

I wouldn't mind being a deckie either. It's better to be on the water or fixin reels rather then in a cubicle. But thats just my humble opinion.
