By far for me it's not what I catch, but what my friend(s) catch that make the fishing more memorable. I could catch a record, but if they don't catch it's pretty much a waste of time for me.
The one time my wife didn't get sick she pulls in this nice barracuda. Usually I handle all the fish, but she stuck her hand in like a trooper for the pic. She also just got her custom pink shikari by my close friend, ngounsay.

This is one of my favorite catches from about 4 years ago. It's a 7# spotted bass I caught on a Carolina rigged Castaic Threadfin Shad. It was 2 ounces shy of the state record. I caught her twin sister, three days later, about 100 yards away on one of my spinnerbaits I made.

You rat bastard! I wish I could get back at you, but have nothing to work with...yet. Gimme 'till tomorrow & I should have something cooked up.
Nice move though.

Well, for me my favorite catch was this fierce and scary
Ulua
(giant Jack trevally)
or Toro, a fish that can break any fishing pole in pieces..
but it was nice to me and let me live...
my gear was shreded
The fish fought like no other thing I ever encounter
name it, balck marlin, blue, Yellowfin tuna, Bull dorado, bull Yellowtail
Albacore, sail fish, grouper, pargo, Orca, birds, or seals.
Don't try fishing for these mean uluas
you'll be sorry
