Slow Catalina Island fishing 07/16/

Hi guys got to berth 55 early to get a good spot in the stern. Boat left on time, no squid, used anchovies frozen squid and large (6-8") sardines. Stopped a few miles out at a kelp paddy threw iron and live dines but no one got bit. Fished the early morning for YT but no luck for anyone all day. The cap advised to fish for limits of calico and opaleye which some got. I stuck to sardines and iron all day hoping for a yellow. Caught several bonito but a slow day overall, going out again next week hope to have better news then. does anyone hve any experience with the San clemente full day out of daveys locker(?) would like to try if I heard good things about it. was told about it by a guy having his reels lined up at Turners.

daveylockers always pack them boats, you might wanna call them a find out (all the info).

I would deffinately stay away from Davey's. Always hearing chit reports about them and I myself had bad day on their boat. I'd stay away, get a Clemente trip out of Dana Wharf or 22nd
