Craig Stone of Emeryville Sportfishing said the first weekend of the dungeness crab and sand dab combo trips was very productive. Out of Emeryville on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the New Seeker carried a total of 54 anglers, reporting in with a combined 305 dungeness crabs, 1,919 sand dabs, and 374 mackerel. The best action was found about 15-18 miles straight out the Golden Gate. The crab combo trips will continue at least until the end of the month, with one boat running giant squid trips starting Jan. 20.
