Central Coast Bay Report 9/1/05

THE BAYS
SUISUN: Jordona Santiago of Martinez Bait and Tackle is reporting fair
fishing this week. The wind has been almost non-existent over the last
couple of days, making sturgeon fishing better. The Martinez pier is
still producing fish as well.
Erik Crouch of Martinez caught a 50-pound, 44-inch bat ray from the pier
on anchovies and a 28.5-inch, 7-pound striper. Steve Jones of Pacheco
caught a 65-inch, 60-pound sturgeon in the Suisun slough on grass
shrimp, and Troy Pate of Rodeo caught a 54-inch, 28.7-pound sturgeon on
eel at the sandbar (Buoy 6).
