Some Eastern Sierra updated info...
MAMMOTH LAKES REGION: The Crowley Lake bite remains good for anglers,
with the best action still off Sandy Point and in McGee Bay. Limits are
still common for bait anglers, trollers, and fly anglers. There is also an
excellent perch bite in Crowley. The Owens River is high and off-color, and
even Hot Creek is flowing at 140 cfs and off color. Fly anglers are still
getting fish on flashy nymphs fished under strike indicators. Twin Lakes is
starting to have more open water, but Mary, Mamie, George, and all the lakes
above are still frozen. The road is open to Rock Creek Lake, but it's still
frozen. Convict Lake is good.
BISHOP AREA: Sabrina Lake is opening up with most of the ice gone.
There is pretty good action in the lake. Joseph Romero, Rialto, caught
rainbows at 3-12 and 4-12 on Power Bait. David Stanich, San Diego, had a
3-4, also on Power Bait. Bishop Creek and Intake II remain good with weekly
plants. South Lake's road is cleared and it was stocked again by the DFG
this week. North Lake is still inaccessible. Pleasant Valley Reservoir has
been fair to good and the perch bite is wide open. The Wild Trout stretch of
the Owens and points downstream had been slow with ripping flows. The Owens
River gorge above Pleasant Valley has been good for fly anglers.
