Eastern Sierras 6/23 - 6/27 w/ Photos

I'll make it brief, Stayed in Mammoth, I fished Upper Twin Lakes every day since I have a little row boat that is always there. First day there I catch 1 Alper on an Orange Lip Ripper, so I'm off to a good start. Next day we C&R a bunch of stockers on Lip Ripperz and tube jigs.

Wed 6/23 - First day there I catch 2 1/2 pound Alper on an Orange Lip Ripper, so I'm off to a good start.

Thursday - C&R a bunch of stockers at Twin, nothin big. Hiked to the Postpile and Rainbow falls, C&R a few little browns and rainbows from the SJ around rainbow falls area on a gold Panther. Fished sotcher* lake and landed 3 holdovers on a gold Panther. Fished twin in the evening for a few stockers on the LR

Friday - Usually morning at twin with the Orange Lip Ripperz, went to Rock Creek to meet a friend, waded a little C&R a few nice stockers on a gold panther, water was running real fast. So then I head to twin for the evening and had caught a few stockers on the Lip Ripper, Head over to the falls, hooked at least what must have an Alper over 3 lbs, faught him for a good 2 mins, Tightened the drag too much, My fault (and it happens again on sat. so pissed)

Saturday - Fished twin in the morning, just a few on the Lip Ripperz. Fished Mamie a little, nothing. Went back to twin and lost another fattie Alper on the Lip Rip at the falls, My fault again since I didnt wear him out and tightened the drag too much. Right after this I caught a stocker, had my little brother string it and I turn again and notice a toddler bear within 10 feet of him just looking at him. I yelled at my brother, he came after us, so I hucked the fish at him, he took a few bites, then started just slowly walking after us, we ran along the shoreline, my brother was freakin out. We ditched him though, thought we had more fish. I guess the bear has been hangin around the lake just looking for going up to people for thier fish, according to the Warden. I hate to see someone get hurt as he gets bigger though. Went back to twin in the evening with my dad,ran out of lip ripperz, so had to use the Power Worms. These actually worked a lot better than the Lip Ripperz, Hooked about 15 stockers in an hour, and my dad got his first Alper on the orange power worm !

Also fished mammy creek for little bit, C&R about 5 decent stockers on salmon eggs.

It was a real fun trip, Had great sucess with the Orange Lip RipperZ. I'll be back up there in about 2 weeks!

Sloper, Great pictures! I've been letting some of the Hook Up members know that I have a condo in Mammoth and plan to make a weekend turn around(Friday Thru Sunday type of thing) sometime soon with about 8 to 10 of us from Hook up. If your interested just let me know so I know who to keep in mind when planning it. BTW, are you gonna hit up the next Hook Up members private charter out of San Diego in August?

Great pic's. They really show why I make the trip 6 or 8 times a year. The scenery is awesome and the fishing is a bonus.

Not a problem. This time we're just killing Rainbows and Browns. I'll definitely keep you in on the Mammoth condo situation.

Eh, I was thinking sometime next month. It doesn't have to be 8 or 10 of us, it could very well be 3 or 4 of us. But I definitely hope you're in Sloper.
