Eastern Sierra Opener?
Ok guys I am not dead first off, but just very busy with school and work.
Well I was going to see who is going to go to the Eastern Sierra Opener this year, and if so see if maybe some of us who are going, maybe could stay together or something of the sort? None of my friends ever want to go to the opener, I think they just need to put their man pants on! LOL
But seriously, It'll be a ton of fun. WHo wants to go? I'm going to have the friday before off, so i'll be going up friday, and coming home sunday. The opener is on April 29th this year! Also the way the weatehr has been this year, there isn't as much snow, and the temperatures have been nice and warm for the most part. I know 2 years ago a few friends of mine were even able to float tube in Convict Lake, but I know of a ton of good fishing spots off the shore of all of the areas!
Let's make a Hook-Up event out of it!!!!

Sup Jason,
I think that's a great Idea, problem is we've go alot of other hook up events going on this year. Around that time we are going to be having a major HUSF surf fishing tournament going on, and then shortly there after HUSF is considering a Bat Ray Tournament also.
The opener to me just get's too crowded, though I've gone many times. Who knows some of the guys might want to go up that weekend, but I think that's the weekend we're going to be holding the Surf Fishing Tourny.
What we have in the works is a Sierras trip at the end of July. I don't knowif you remember, but I have a condo in Mammoth, so a couple weeks after we get back from the "Deuces Wild" trip (that's the two day charter we have scheduled for July 7th - 9th) we are going to be headed to my condo for three days of exploring the Sierras. I really would hope that you will be apart of that weekend and consider going? We still haven't fished together yet.
Hey, are you going to the Fred hall Show this year????

I am thinking about going. I've never fish a Sierra opener before. Which lakes did you have in mind or is that confidential info?

Well, I think we should reschedule the surf fishing tournament, a Sierra opener only happens once a year.

Well it is definitely an official HUSF.com event, and it needs to be placed appropriately to balance out what we've already got planned for the year (as far as official husf.com events go), but I don't see a problem with moving it to the next weekend since I haven't actually posted the announcment yet.
I'm only doing this because I want Jason and Harold to compete in the surf fishing tournament, and because I feel bad that we disfigured Harold..............

Well, I cannot say for sure, but I believe some members already plan on going to the Sierra openers this year, and as for my standpoint I would want those guys join us for the surf fishing tournament as well and not take their opener away.
If planning is problem we can move it up an extra week and give us 7 more days of planning and make the event even better.

I am not sure if you can have first annual, if it never happened before how could it be an annual event. Maybe inaugural surf tournament .

The first one is always called a "First Annual" if there's plans to have it reoccure each year, which there is; that's why there's so much emphasis being put into the planning of it. It's going to be a very structured event, done very professionally so that it's extremely organized and flows well.........just like everything I design
Plus, no one has spoken about the opener at all this year until Jason brought it up. Everyone has been seriously gearing up for this Surf Fishing tournament, but still there shouldn't be a problem moving it to the weekend after the opener so there's both opportunities available.

Well I guess what I should have said was that no one has really created a consensus about an organized HUSF trip to the opener.
I'm not against it. I don't particularly care for the opener. I've done it a billion times and it get's too crowded and way to much fishing pressure. But on the flip side it's cool to be around hundreds of serious anglers
I just didn't want anything to interfere with tournament attendance. Attendance is crucial to the way that I've structured the prize system.
But go my son.....find thyself an Alper.....then thou shalt eat and be merry and return to slay the beasts of the sea.

Ill go to the opener if my grandpa is willing to take his boat up to Crowley but I doubt he will want to make that long drive.
