Not sure if you ever fish the western Sierras, but we may be heading up in July to the Yuba River. We are going to Gold pan, fish, and camp... As well as hit the eatern sierras too.

When my sister lived in Paradise just North of Chico I used to visit her every Summer and fish some lakes and streams near there. That reminds me my sister and my younger brother are both living in Utah now, I guess I should put aside some time to go fish...um er I mean go visit them this Summer.

It depends what river system you're fishing. Some do and some don't have a season; and some rivers /streams/ creeks have different opening days. Gotta be specific. Because I run the California Custom Angling Co. (we design and produce 100% customized and personally tailored California sport fishing adventures for our clients), I'm pretty well versed in certain California Regions, and researching stuff like that. If you need help in anyway, let me know.

hehe, small world fishslayer, i used to live in those parts been up to paradise many times and still have family and friends up there, used to be a little stream about 15 mins east of paradise where you could get native brookies...and rainbows.. I guess i took the fishing up there for granted until i came down south

There is some fun stuff an hour and a half from here, when I get to go to the Santa Ana river and Jenk's lake I will post it in advance so anyone who wants to go can tag along. I will probibly make a weekend out of it and camp somewhere up there.
