Magnificent Lake Athapapuskow (click to view map of lake) [Lake Athapap] for short, (Cree Indian word meaning “Rocks All Around”) is world renowned for it’s trophy Lake Trout, Northern Pike, quality Walleye and Perch. Lake Athapap has held 3 World Records in total to date. Also accessible by floatplane or portages are many remote or semi – remote lakes, Stocked waters with Small Mouth Bass and Rainbow Trout are just minutes from the Lodge.

The fishing guides at Bakers Narrows Lodge hold a lifetime of experience and knowledge of the sourounding waters, fish species and the environment. Each guided experience leads you to shore
around mid day. Sit and relax and enjoy the smell of your morning catch as it sizzles in a pan over
an open fire, complimenting one of thier 3 traditional shore side lunches.

Bakers Narrows Lodge operates only the finest fishing boats, fully equipped with the following:
fish finder, rod holders, swivel back seat, lake maps and all the gear. This allows you to spend hours
of incredible fishing on the lake with room and comfort in mind. Boats are new 16 – 18 ft wide beam
- flat floor – heavy aluminum fishers that are equipped with comfortable swivel bass boat seats and comfortably accommodate 3 persons with an upper casting platform.

At Bakers Narrows Lodge, fishing is taken seriously. They offer unlimited quality Manitoba fishing on an abundance of day fly-in lakes and portage lakes. They operate thier own commercial air service ensuring that safety is # 1.
The floatplanes are a “Dehavland Beaver”, a “Cessna 172”, or a “Cessna 206”. The Beaver is a single engine workhorse carrying 4-5 persons. The Cessna’s are also single engine and very versatile for day trips with a capacity of 2-4 persons.

My son and I have been on some great fishing trips but the week we spent at Bakers Narrows was by far the greatest trip of our lives.

We are both AVID fisherman and our expectations when it came to the fishing where high. We did not expect however that by the end of the second day that both of us would have made the Manitoba “Master Anglers List”, me with a 45” Lake Trout and my son with a 44” Northern Pike. But we did! Hardly a day went by that we didn’t catch so many fish that we lost count. The fishing alone was worth the cost of the trip.

Then there’s the service and accommodations. When it comes to describing the service we received from your family and every member of your staff, incredible, extraordinary, fantastic, all are understatements!

It started the second we arrived when Eelco gladly showed us to our cabin at 12:00AM. Long after the office was closed. Every day during our stay at least one member of your family or staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay unforgettable.

All of the guides were professional, courteous and knowledgeable. We learned more from John about fishing for Lake Trout in one day than we could have learned in a year of reading or fishing on our own. They cooked a pretty good shore lunch too! The food and service in the restaurant was “Five Star”. Our pilot was skilled, professional and very courteous. The cabins were comfortable, spacious and well maintained. I could go on and on.

The only thing we didn’t like about our stay at Bakers Narrows is that it had to end. God willing, we will see you next year.
