Honorary "Newbie" Letter of intro.
Hi folks, I'm a student and art painter out of Riverside, Ca who's looking forward to the up-and-coming seasons. I'm equipped with all the necessary gear and lures- Samson cable antenna, addidas shoes strings, and my hamster Peaches. Now all I have to do is....learned how to fish. Well, I fished regularly at 14 (over ten yrs ago) and haven't fished since. I've chatted with Mark Bereford- thanks again- and look forward to fishing with you. All advice is welcome and I am hoping to enjoy the feedback here in the forum.
Vincent

Welcome to The HookUp! You are really a great artist--the only things I can draw are stick figures and a paycheck! You have definitely come to the right place for fishing advice, stories, and assorted palaver. Pretty soon you'll become familiar with the language spoken here--like beans munching on sandcrabs, halis on the hardbait, YT on the iron, and recipes for smoking SNGF's Just don't be afraid to ask questions, everybody here is full of answers, advice and opinions based on countless trips going mano-a-mano with Mr. Fish no matter where he lives(even in goldfish ponds! ) Oh, and don't forget to get a fishing license for your hamster, Peaches

Welcome to the site, your portrait looks good. Peaches might not need a license based on age.

According to the latest DFG regs, mammals who are not human must have a license, regardless of age--and hamsters are on the list (Hey, the DFG spent so much money coming up with those "no fishing" zones off the coast, they need some extra "cheddah ) And all you fishermen out there with pet lizards and snakes--the DFG is seriously thinking of going after the reptiles, forcing them to have licenses, too. Hey, when you waste revenue like the DFG, you gotta be creative. Especially when you basically shut down California's sportfishing fleet and people(i.e. humans)decide that buying a license to fish in areas that are virtually fishless is pointless.(Fishermen can be so picky ). For those of you who have pets that want to fish, just go to Ebay to pick up the necessary gear--hamster flippin' sticks, German shepherd noodle rods, Ugly Sticks for chimps, etc. And remember, the DFG is on your side--along with Santa Monica limousine ecoliberals, the Sierra Club, and every PETA wacko from here to the Oregon border. It's kinda like AllState--we're in good hands with the DFG

Well I just Peaches would make good bait. You looks cut and cuddily but if he gets a Pike by the headlock, it's all over.

Welcome to the board! There's quite a few members in your area so I'm sure you'll find some guys to fish with and help you find spots. I look forward to fishing with you sometime soon!

Welcome to the site man, you'll have a good time and learn a ton on here. Plus you'll never be short for a fishing partner. Lemme know if you're ever going to hit HB or near this area.
Tight lines!
