Howdy

I`m a Santa Monica local,and fish out of a 9 1/2ft kayak most
of the time. When I want to enjoy a mo stable platform,I fire
up the BW 13FT SS and leave the barbs intact.I fish about
100 days a year,and release 95%.

Happy Trails,
MDR Farmer

Welcome to the board. I'm just a little north of you in the Malibu area. We'll have to meet up sometime. What kind of yak do you have?

The last few nights I`ve been killing the short WSB`s at
the dock at Mothers Beach ,but that was on the bicycle so it
dosent really count. It`s Whaler tyme tomorow, but I`ve got
bait tank issuse`s,so I`ll be breakin out the Plastic`s & Iron`s
and see`en what`z I can scope on the 337 CDF.I`ll also bring
a lb. of frozen candy too boot.

A fellow yak-head,cool.I`ve got the worst kayak in the sit-
inside-of world. It`s an Old Town Otter, and the only place
I`ve been in Malibu is just north of pier.Waves are always
mellower there.Plus the surfers think I`m gonna steal thier
waves. If they only knew that my yak and wave-riding are
not exactly happening, but a killer area for structure.I`m
mainly yakin in and around MDR,but love cruzin north in
the Whaler, maybe I`s can bring yas up some live bait
when I`m sportin the tank.
HAPPY TRAILS

MDR REPORT

I couldn`t do an AM run so the Whaler got blown out,and some afternoon
yaken was in order.Water clarity was good, and the sun was baken at 1 PM.
I got out to my favorite spot and second cast got the Stradic 2500 screemin.
Of course being a barly legal Cailco,it wasnt much of a fight.Right around
4 PM the tide started coming back in and I was hooked up with a 4 lb. WSB
that tested the 6 lb. Trilene.I couldn`t get the end to start on the thumb-rap
tape so I whipped out the leather palmed gloves and proceeded to let this
puppy loose. This fish just about made it through the leather, and still man-
aged to scrap the skin. After retrieving my storm three inch pearl shad,My
buddy the thumb killer was on his way to another fight.Barbless is cool !!.
After re-tieing,the next cast I hooded up again but let off on the drag abit,
and the 6 lb. test went cut.Local fishing rules.
HAPPY TRAILS
