howdy!
Just thought I'd say hello since I'm new here. I'm no stranger to message boards so a few of you may know me as smitty_in_socal or sierra_smitty from other boards but I've managed to find my way here hoping to find a few fellow Sierra enthusiasts in these parts. I'm originally from OC but two months ago I quit my corporate job and moved to Bishop, CA looking for greener pastures so to speak. I'm currently the General Manager & part owner of Parchers Resort & South Lake Boat Landing on the south fork of Bishop Creek and can't wait for all that dang snow to melt so we can get to work.

Hey there smitty, glad to have you aboard! I don't think I've interacted with you in any other arenas, but in any case welcome and hope that you stay active. I guarantee 3 things here:
1.) alot of serious and knowledgable anglers here to "talk shop" with. 2.) no one pulls punches here, no matter what level of fishing you are....(and I know you've got some experience & knowledge under your belt). Everyone gets involved with everyone elses reports and questions, etc, etc. The comeraderie is definitely worth the stay here at Hook Up......that's what it's becoming very well known for. 3.) You'll find alot of Sierra loving anglers here on the boards, so not only will you have plenty to talk about and members to talk with, but you'll have plenty of us coming up to utilize your services, I'm sure, as we plan frequent trips up your way. I'm actually partial owner of our family owned condominium in the town of Mammoth Lakes so I'm not far from you at all when I go up that way. We need a good active member living in the Bishop area, here at Hook Up, so you can keep us informed first hand on what's going on up there. Looking forward to seein' you here on the boards. |

Howdy...nah, none of us have ever used the "jumping fish" pattern the snow in the cracks of the cliff/slopes above Silver lake as your marker when you're paddling around.
Welcome aboard...as you can tell I usually hang out on the June Lake Loop. It'll be nice to hear on-the-spot reports from the other areas.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome fellas!!! Yup, I can't wait for that snow to melt up at the lake and the resort so we can get busy.....you'll see plenty of reports from me, usually with pictures when they turn out ok. Glad to see a few guys stopped by the booth at the FH show too, very cool!
