Intoduction as Requested
Ok, loved fishing growing up as a Kid, did all the piers, jetties etc... Then dad bought an Aluminum boat. Grew up and fishing was no longer cool, surfing was. Surfed for many years until shoulder problems started(old age you know). So I started fishing again about 4 years ago, picked up right where I left off, Penn Jigmaster, Saber rod and all. Now I have the latest and greatest (within my budget of course), Saltist, Torium, Jigstick, Ugly Sticks (yes, I love the Ugly Sticks, I just fish the heaver rods for lighter tackle)...and even a boat.....

funny, as I was walking down the beach the other day I thought it would be fun to surf again. I did it off and on for awhile. I am 36..maybe I am going through a mid life crisis..

I think a lot of ex-surfers like Surf Fishing because they get to stay near the surf all the time
Welcome to the board.

I'm guessing you stopped fishing to run "TO" the girls in your younger life. And now you find yourself fishing to run "FROM" the girls. Whatever the case may be, I'm glad you found our forum and look forward to your fish tales and pics to back them up.
Welcome to the site Gary!

My dad took me fishing when I was young
unfortunally he fished big tuna, and I never liked the pain
Now that I'm older I wish my dad was alive
to take me tuna fishing one more time..

Been reading all the replies and I will be visiting this site often going forward. I mainly launch out of Huntington Harbor, have a few honey holes for the bottom dwellers and fish the Pelagic in the Summer, Catalina and offshore.
I also do 2, 2-Day trips out of San Diego in the summertime, one over Labor day weekend and the other I like to look for one around late July, don't have one booked for 2009 yet, so if anyone needs one more on a charter let me know.
Surftaco, funny you mentioned Punta de mite, I surfed there when I was young (about 22 years ago). We drove down with a bunch of friends and a small boat. Launched where they call Puerto Vallarta now and were catching 15-20lb dorado about 100yds off the shore on strips of mackrel. Honeymooned in Puerto Vallarta about 4 years ago and chartered a 1/2 trip, but only caught a bunch of Bonito and a few football size yellowfin, had Ocho Tostadas to cook them for us, yum...could not bring my board on that trip though....great place!

That's not true. You don't need pictures to post reports. They are fun to read and contain valuable information, regardless of the number of pictures or videos in them.

Well, I love pics and video as much as the next guy, but I'd rather see a report without pics/video than none at all! All info is good info, even if it's black and white
