Central Coast checking in!

Howdy ya'll.
My name is PK and I am a fishing addict. It doesn't matter where, when, or how….as long as I get to fish. Started out in freshwater, going for bass+trout. Mostly in Nor Cal. In the past 6 years, I have become a full-fledged saltwater freak. Living in Monterey will do that to you. Lots of shorefishing for perch, stripers, and rockfish. Tons of kayak fishing for rockfish, halibut, salmon, and sharks. And charters/boats for rockfish, salmon, and albacore.

For me, the ultimate goal is not necessarily to catch fish. I really just like to enjoy the outdoors with friends. Maybe have a drink or a smoke and then worry about "catching." But don't get it twisted, I catch fish man. Lots of em too. I guess I'm lucky to live in a place with such a diverse marine environment. There is ALWAYS something to fish for, regardless of season. I'll do what I can to keep the Nor Cal reports board fresh.

Glad to be part of this site. I have some friends in the San Diego area that I plan to visit this summer. Gonna do some kayak fishing out of La Jolla or somewhere nearby. So this site should come in handy when it comes time to prepare for some So Cal fishing fun. Looking forward to learnin some new tricks too!
Thanks guys,
PK

Welcome to the Jungle SinCoast! I think you make a great addition to the site. As a matter of fact, our pet mascot (Homeslice) will be moving to Monterrey in the near future. Maybe you can show him the ropes.

Again, Welcome & keep those Nor Cal reports filled. Don't forget Pix!!!

Pics? You guys want pics?
Here are a few of my online photo albums. As you can see, I do a lot of shore rockfishing. Not very many peoplepractice the art of catching rockfish from shore. It is definitely an under-utilized resource: there's plenty of fish to catch, you can fish a variety of techniques, and its open year-round. Not to mention rockfish are quite tasty!

Here's my 2006 Shore Rockfishing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1713573...7602839908855/
2007 Shore Rockfishing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1713573...7602837063734/
2008 Shore Rockfishing: http://www.flickr.com/photos/1713573...7603774175019/

These pics only represent about half the trips I've taken over the past 3 years. But anyways, these should keep ya'll busy for a while LOL!
Hope you enjoy the pics. Thanks for looking,
Pk
