What a place , the Marlin, Dorado and other big game are plenty, like baja 20 years ago, I'll be there next thursday,(lats year) I just e-mailed steve to confirm it, he, Steve, along with fernando A. owns catch22 sportfishing at San Carlos, Nice guy married to a Marlin champ fisherlady, he will pick up anglers at Hermosillo airport, take them to the hotel Marina terra, the boats are right there, just steps from the hotel, excelent view, pool, bar restaurant, I just love the place, this time around will be fishing for Yellowtail, I know that a huge yellow is waiting for round 2, The yellow won round 1, nevertheless, last june 13 dorados joined me for... fishtacos

usually I drive to nogales, I take the 10 fwy down to tucson,(8 hrs)then the 19th to Nogales,(1.5 hrs) cross the border towards Hermosillo, (3 hrs.) then to San Carlos(1.3 hrs) about 14 hr drive from Fontana, CA 92337, take some red bulls and plenty of music, chewing gum and leave early around 4 am, get there at around 7 pm here is some more info
Located on the Sea of Cortez, the lovely Mexican resort community of San Carlos offers something for everyone. For water sports enthusiasts, there are beautiful sand beaches, spectacular diving and snorkeling, kayaking, and offshore fishing. San Carlos is only a 250 mile, 4-hour drive from Nogales, AZ on Hwy 15, a four-lane divided highway.
The community hosts an 18-hole championship golf course, tennis courts, a bowling alley and numerous gift shops and galleries for shopping and browsing. For the boater, two marinas are available with paved launch ramps, dry storage facilities, complete marine repair and maintenance services, fuel docks and reasonable rates for slip rental. Numerous restaurants featuring seafood, Sonoran beef, Mexican dishes and American cuisine are located throughout the town. Prime real estate is available for sale and there are motels, hotels, RV Parks, condominiums and private home rentals to fit every group and budget.
If you’ve not experienced the ambiance and relaxing lifestyle of a Mexican seaside resort, you owe it to yourself to visit San Carlos.
You may never want to leave.

bACK FORM sAN cARLOS
HOLA COMPADRES!
I JUST CAME BACK FROM SAN CARLOS MEXICO, TOOK MY KIDS FISHING ON A "CATCH 22 SPORTFISHING" BOAT, AND THEY LOVED, THEY ARE HOOKED, WE ENDED UP WITH 10 FISH, 6 SKIPJACKS AND 4 BIG YELLOWTAIL.
THE LAST YELLOW FIGHT MAKES A GOOD FISH STORY, SINCE IT WAS THE BIGGEST YELLOW AND A SEAL WANTED TO STEAL THE FISH, THE DARN SEAL GOT IT BY THE TAIL, AND RAN WITH IT, I KEEP PULLING IT-RELEASING, IT WILL LET GO, AND SNACHED AGAIN AND AGAIN, FOR ABOUT 40 MIN. WE FOLLOWED THE SEAL WITH THE BOAT WHILE THE YELLOW WAS STILL HOOKED TO A TADY 45 BLUE ON 30 LB P-LINE, IT WAS HARD TO FIGHT THE BIG YELLOW PLUS A STUBORN SEAL ATTACHED TO THE TAIL, BUT THAT SEAL WAS NOT GONNA TAKE THE FISH THIS TIME.
THE SEAL GOT TIRED, AND FINALLY WE LANDED THE BIG FISH, WITH THE TAIL ALL CHEWED UP BUT WE WON THE FIGHT.
