Cabo trip 06' for all you Avet lovers
Went to Cabo with the wife and some friends last weekend. Took the fleet out of Gordo Banks Pangas with Eric. Fished the first day, pretty wasted after partying all night with an hour of sleep. Still managed to get a handful of YFT, a small dorado and some skippies. The next day woke up fresh and ready to fish. Decided to head for the larger tuna since we already had plenty of fish. Started out flylining a live sardina on the SX, instant hook up on the right kind. Seconds later my wife hooks a sail on the JX. After 45 mins. my wife releases her sail. Another hour after that I get my fish to the boat. The SX was unbelievable. For those of you that thought a 2 speed that small was pointless. I kind of thought that too. I wanted to test it out after I bought it, to see if it was pointless. After some 25# dorados and "25#" yellows, And after this YFT at 96.2# on Erics digital. Its well worth every penny.

Great job Gene. No wonder we never get to fish anymore, your gettng spoiled with all your billfish and cabo trips. Guess perch and bass just arent thrilling enough anymore.

Thanks for the report Gene! Congrats on the great trip. Good also to get some first hand info on the 2-speed SX.

Gene,
Mad respect, for real. Did you land that 92#'er on the SX 6/4?? That's what it's for!
I was just at AVET industries this past Monday. Had lunch with Harry and he walked me through the machining process for the SX 6/4.....incredible!

Thats a helluva catch on the little SX...
I was in Cabo earlier this year, no fishing though....I think I did leave part of my liver at a few of the bars down there...
