San Jose Del Cabo report

Hello Gang,

I just got back yesterday from a 3 day fishing adventure in San Jose Del Cabo. For those that don't know about San Jose Del Cabo it is just a 20 minute drive past Cabo San Lucas.

First day we took out a Super Panga provided by Gordo Banks Pangas. Was a bit slow, but did manage to land and release a 140 lbs Striped Marlin. The second day we chartered a 30ft cruiser. Fishing was within 5 miles of shore and the Dorado were biting. We landed serveral for the cooler and caught and released another Striped Marlin.

On our last day we took out another Super Panga and lit-it-up! Several nice sized Dorado for the coolers and 3 Striped Marlin. One on 20 Lbs line. We were slow trolling a small mackeral hoping for a bull dorado when a marlin hit it. Happened again with our 30 pound rig. The last Marlin was caought on 50 Lbs line.

By the way. For all those thinking about buying Avet reels I have two words for you- DO IT! I took 6 Avets with me and they all rocked. A 140 Lbs marlin on 20 pound test was using the Avet MX 2 speed.
