fishing report nexpa Mexico Dic 04
Nexpa is a beach located north of Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Mexico, we arrived friday night with no time to go fishing. Next day we woke up at 630am to go fishing just a few feet from our bungalow, there was no live bait till half an hour later, but had no luck, no fish at all, kind of disapointed, we decided to go back and have breakfast, as we finished eating, we saw a lot of birds cuming towards the shore, next thing they were diving and there was live bait by the tons, we got our rods and headed to the shoreline, the big fish were pushing the bait toward the sand and next thing you could see them on the sand. we arrived and put some eagle claw hooks and grabed some fish and just cast away, you didnt need to cast that far, 30 feet was more than enough, as soon as the bait hit the water, bam! you got hooked and line was cuming out by the feet from our reels, I had 15lb line, and they pulled hard. we caught 4 big Jack Cravelle for dinner and the rest catch and release, I dont remember how many we caught but I guess more than 30, it was the biggest feeding frenze I had seen in my life.
Fish stoped feeding and we just headed to our bungalow to get the fish clean and ready to eat.
That afternoon it was the same thing, we headed out again and it was fish after fish after fish, just catch and release.
Next day there wasnt any bait but casted some spoons and there they were again but not so many this time, caught like 20 and had more than fun.
you can see the pictures here

Nice pictures. Those jacks put up quite a fight. How long did it take you to land one?

it didnt take long to land them in, about 4 or 5 minutes, you are all welcome to come fishing.
Also I just couldnt wait and went night fishing today, I just came back right now, itīs 2am, we went by boat and caught some red snappers (small) about 40 of them or more, itīs going to be a nice lunch tomorrow, by the way a friend put an 80lb line to see if a gropuer bite it, he landed a very big rock from the bottom, we couldnt stop laughing for quite a while.
Small red crabs came to the boat by the hundreds and snapper love those, will post pictures tomorow.

yes, hundreds of red crabs were in the water, we turn a gas lamp on so they come close to the boat, then we just pick them with a net and put them in the live well.
By the way I just ate those red snappers and they tasted real good.
We are already planning another fishing trip to a place called Puerto Vicente Guerrero, there is good gropuer, barracuda fishing, we might to middle of January.
