10/4/06 - Sacramento River
Salmon fishing on the Lower Sacramento river near Sacramento had been dead for quite awhile but things started picking up on Oct. 4. The kings(King Salmon) have been running late, so this is the first good push of fish we've seen so far. The bite should do nothing but improve over the next several weeks and I think we'll have good action into mid-November. The exciting thing is the kings have been running large this year and I've only had one day since July 16 without a fish over 20 pounds on the boat. We've been getting everything on sardine-wrapped silver/chartreuse Kwikfish lately. Here are a couple pics from the past couple days....
