Hey Rus I would call Irvine first and see what happend to them during the fires. They may have used the lake and it's freshly stocked trout to put the fires out via helicopter. I know they pretty much drained a private resevoir near me and a few swimming pools.

I've never had much luck shore fishing Irvine power bait or jigs, always had to kayak out to the center/deep part of the lake... but since you are going on a weekday it might be different. If you walk along shore and cast about 13-14 feet ahead of you about 4 feet from shore you can score bass now and then. If you go Irvine let me know if I have some time I'll try and meet you there. A buddy from school has been hitting up Castaic and said the strippers have been on and got a few bass in the 8-10 lbs range.

according to WON the lake is open and no damage was done.

Change of plans, looks like my dad and I will be hitting some spots along the coast instead...find some rocks to fish from.

3rd and 4th yeah forgot to flip the calendar...woops well stripers or strippers they both are fun. Good luck on the rocks =)

What are ya new?

Dont forget change your clock this weekend too, or is that the 3rd of Dec or Sept. I forget which way so either is fine.

Looks like im out/off the water once again. Man im starting to feel like you Russ. Fishing once a month or when time permits. Got to get back to my 3 a weeks, but daughter and her activities come first.

I might head out to L beach to tube 72nd or Alamitos bay. Got some fishtraps and basstrix to try out.
