So i have tried the bread, the corn, the home made dough baits, the bobber rigging, the fly lined, just about everything. and yet i still have only managed carp no bigger than 10 inches. I usually fish at night in south OC area and know there are some big fish in the lake (hear them splashing and exploding the surface all night).
can anyone give me some tips i have been dreaming of that 10plus golden bass for awhile now!

I've caught on the bottom(glowbug flies, canned corn and corn tortillas). The videos i've seen all have been targeting the bottom of the water. Yes I have seen them explode on the top all day , but never hit them on the surface. you need Guerrero corn tortillas, dont laugh but its true.
I have tried fishing for carp before and was pretty successful. I used corn meal and cooked it with a can of soda, cola i thought worked great. And just cook it in a pot til the corn meal gets really sticky and would ball on the hook and stay on when in water. Good luck.
