We use to punch a small hole in their bladder to let the air, called fizzing, course that waas in the old days..

that was freaking amazing, i thought you were showing us another fun way of torturing fish!
so what happened here, when you catch a fish and have it too much out of the water air begins to get trapped in them and thats why it was near dying. im curious as to what you punctured or did you just force it down its throat?

alrighty i did a little research and found that this deflates the bladder of a deep caught fish, does this mean like when you gut hook a fish?

That is cool, I saw something similar to that on sale at Walmarts recently think it was made by Berkley. Took a look at it but had no idea how it worked.

Nope, has nadaa to do with gut hooking a fish, although theres a way of Safely removing a hook if you gut hook them, have to do it through the gills. There's a vid on how to do it somewhere, if you want I'll try and find it.

sorta, when they get too much air in their bladder, they become to boyant, and don't swim so good, thus they can't hunt down food, and die.
