im in the same boat i cant get them to bite on the fly rod but the spinner is a different story

For a leader, I was just using mono with a loop at one end and connected it to my fly line. Then I was using some flies that were basically chartruese yarn with some sparkle chenile for a body. About 10" up I had on one splitshot.

How long of a leader Geoff? Were you using floating or sinking fly line? thanks a bunch.

About 34" and I was using a floating line with a sinktip.
