I would be interested in going, but not too sure if the Kayak I have would be ok in ocean waters. It has been great up at the lakes, and a guy at a kayak store said it should be fine in the ocean just stay out of rough waters/waves... smooth waters off the coast and harbors would be fine.
Here is the one I have...
http://www.kayaker.com/new/products/...ational&ID=104
Only mine I added a stainless gear rack for tackle, rod holder, 2 handles on the sides, and a rod/net/paddle holder along each side.

Bummer. I have had the last 3 Saturdays off and I have to work the next 2. I will try to post a few days ahead of when I go out on the message board. I have been kayak fishing for the past year and have only gone solo.

Vagabond, hey man.. thier's only one way to find out if it's sea worthy =D If you get into any trouble myself and the rest of the fella's will be able to help ya out. I've got a bilge pump stowed in my hatches if for some reason you take on any water..
Yuckster, as long as the forecast doesent call for big swells or winds I'm out every saturday so let me know if you head out.
F11, I'm sure thier'll be plenty more get togethers as we see more and more kayak'ers on here daily. What harbor is closest to your shop?

Not sure what time I get off as we're going to shift work It takes me 21/2 to get to NP. I bought a HumminBird 525. Still trying to figure out how i want to mount it. I think I'll get the scotty tripple rod holder or the ram mount.

I'll probably be on the water saturday if it's a light rain, Sunday I'll be fishin the surf with one of the girlfriends.
Alex, on the bright side, you did get it back! How did your bait fare that day? What do they charge for a scoop or half scoop? Any floaters? How did the bait look and what was it?(Anchovies, sardines etc.) Are you just using a bucket, or do you have an aereator or pump? I picked up a nice round trashcan that I think would be a nice bait bucket but I need a pump and the other hardware.
F11, do you stock bait bucket hardware at your shop?

One of the girlfriends!! The bait actually lasted a few hours. I made a bait tube. I got all sardines. It's a pain at the barge because he tries to pore them in the tube. You want to place them tail first down the tube. Oh yea, it's Alfred or Al. No biggie!!

Lol yea... fishin chics <3 Yea I've gotta try one of those biat tubes out... trolling a bait bucket sucks. Lol my bad about the name, in my defense I heard Richard say it first! Guess it just kinda stuck since we never really got a formal introduction.

Yeah Supa711 yer right there is only one way to find out if it is sea worthy. It seems the rain is going to come in Friday night through Saturday. So Sunday might be cleared up enough to go.
I was looking at those bilge pumps at Sport Chalet wondering if I needed one or not, incase I get more water than my super absorbant sponge can handle. I also ordered a spray skirt off Ebay that I hope gets here soon.
I was at a kayak store off PCH in HB yesterday and they had a new Yak that just came out called the Mini-X by Malibu Kayaks... if only that one had come out a month ago I probably would have gone with one of those since it is a very nice 1 seater for ocean use.
I'll keep an eye on this post and bring my Yak home from work incase a meet up comes up I can make it to.

The bait tube is ok but gets in the way of paddling and creates drag. I picked up a 5 gallon bucket to make a bait tank. STill need to get the bilge pump and battery. Damn, the weekends almost here!! Bummer with work!! You guys slayem for me!!
