I will be going not sure when if I can swing a weekday that would be great, but may have to be a weekend. I cannot wait for the show.

It depends on how it is this year. I want to buy a couple fishing vacations and was thinking of going the 6th or 7th if I hear there are some really good deals. Other than that, probably not.

Anything remotely related to fishing, boating, kayaking, etc is available there O_o

If you got kids bring em or your relatives/friends kids! They (by looking cute) will be inundated by free goodies!

They got sales on rods/reels, lures, boats, canoes, kayaks, float tubes, pontoons, terminal tackle, anchors, glasses, fillet knives, camping gear, chairs, tackle boxes, backpacks, bags, rod transport kits, flies, fly tying gear, fly boxes, guided fishing trips, unguided ones, ie everything under the sun. It mostly concentrates on salt, but there are fresh water vendors also.

What booth ya wana meet at? I may hit bob sands or parchers resort...Bob Sands sometimes has Izorline XXX or Maxima line in 2.5, 3, 3.5 etc incriments...like those .5 lb test lines I do.

i didnt know you could buy fishing trip vacations, thats nice, in that case i think i will go this year.

i once went there several years ago and i didnt see anything that was a great deal nor did i see anything that was not being sold at the nearest tackle place, but ill give it another shot, im especially interested in the kayak stuff.

Check the list of events when it comes out so you can schedule your time during your trip...to the Fred Hall Show.

The big draw for the show is that there are things there you might not get to see in your area. Plus the demos, and I think the archery girl. Oh, don't forget the Bongos bikini demo.

The best thing to do is shop the internet and develope a plan for what you're interested in...you can try it in person at the show, and you might or might not get to finagle a deal (just because it's not on "sale" doesn't mean that you can't work a deal, especially on the last day).

If you really want a deal, be prepared to walk away.
The salespeople know that once you walk away, they probably won't see you again.

Part of preparing is bringing cash for what you want. Cash is king.
It's fun to just browse though, especially if you don't have any cash

Me, I'm going with enough room on my card to put money down for a trip. You can walk from booth to booth and look at their pictures and ask questions. I'm going to Alaska, but I don't want to fish for halibut...other people want to fish for halibut...I'd rather spend that day fishing for more salmon...so we'll see how that give and take discussion goes when everyone shows up.

A friend of mine last year went really cheap to a place to fish for steelhead...he was in 7th heaven. He and his friends rented the drift boats from the lodge at the mouth of the river and stayed somewhere else.

I usually go on Wed (this year I can't make it until after 5pm. Then I go once or twice after that depending on my week's schedule, so I'll probably be there on Saturday for sure...but Saturday I probably won't browse much...my browsing times will probably be on other days...I'm going to avoid the Mirage drive area...
