The killing of a Pez Vela

Jose send me this video of a Sail fish he killed in Manzanillo, Colima. Mexico
he admits that he lacks experience, and that killed to eat, not a catch and release and he will never qualify as a peta member, Jose (pepon) got chewed up by the fishing comunity of manzanillo for playing the LA cop,
any sugestion to kill a fish in a more "human way for Jose cee-toe??
how about a chain saw Jose?

Someone lend that guy a gun. In Alaska some shoot their catch with a shotgun. But, then again maybe that guy would use the gun to club it to death.

Just push a sturdy knife through the top of it's head between the eye's like the divers do. That or rip the thick gill line near the bottom of the fish. Bat seems like too much work.

Printed out a 20+ page booklet awhile back for use by people who want to keep tuna and how to prepare them for "sushi" grade, meaning it was beld and iced right away. If the fish is flopping around its hit with a club, or better yet and knife through the soft spot on the top of its head. Some Japanese buyers require that it be killed a specific way. One is to cut the area around the soft spot and thread mono into the spinal cord. This kills it without beating the heck out of it damaging the meat.
