Surf/Pier Fishing, What Taste's Good
If I get a halibut I know what to do, and now I know about Surf Perch. What about Corbina, or Turbot? Edible?

I wouldn't. If I remember correctly corbina are somewhat migratory but they've still been chillin out in the waters here locally for a while. I wouldn't eat anything around here locally unless off an open ocean boat. Other than that I wouldn't risk it. Any of the rockfish, tuna, yellowtail, dorado, WSB, cuda, then yes, anything off a pier, beach, lake, bay then no

I would agree with Tom. I wouldn't eat anything from south cali coastal waters. But, then, I don't eat fish, so all's good. lol

Corbina is a might do since it's a bit more migratory, early halibut as well, but when they've been in the LB waters for awhile I'd definately just say no or follow the limits. However, if you do eat, then filet really well and watch for any fat, that'll hold most bad toxins. Without a doubt do not eat any white croaker or perch around the Belmont Pier. They've been in the water TOO LONG and will have high amounts of toxins. Anything from a boat is pretty safe though.

When Beachbear says "In the water too long" I think he means, "bottom feeding off things that live in the lower layer of mud that holds the toxins from the factory outflow from World War II times, too long"
Hey, this is the Recipie section...I think I'm lost...

Exactly what I meant, but failed to say.
You're not lost, this is HOOKUP, we go off on tangents all the time. Wait awhile and we'll be talking about the next UFC fights
