Memorial Day '07...
Okay here is the plan so far, we have two campsites reserved at Four Jeffrey campground on the South fork of Bishop creek for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Check in time is 2:00 PM on Friday and checkout time is Monday at 1:00 PM
We are allowed a total of six people and two vehicles per site so we need to get and keep a head count of who is going and who is thinking of going.
I will be arriving on Friday to grab the sites, Mark may be riding with me and Brian may be following us up. I am sure we will be fishing most of the day but dont worry we will make sure that we are checked in at the campground on time.
Unless Sean and his dad decide to check in and tag along I suggest that we all bring our own food and stuff, the whole "pot luck" thing can get lame after a while. Mark has offered to bring his nine person tent so some of you may not need to bring your own tent. Any mess kits, propane stoves and other items will also need to be brought yourself unless you know for sure that someone else will have one you can borrow.
It would be nice if every car brought at least one bundle of firewood to share since we will all be using the fire pits each night.
Any other suggestions?

I'm thinking that you should probibly bring the big tent just in case, I plan on sleeping in my truck but I may change my mind and we may need the storage room as well. I have two of the twin size air mattreses that I will be bringing but I think that I will leave the noisy cots at home this time.
I also have plenty of extra sleeping bags if anyone needs me to bring them...

I would not worry about the Queen size airbed, somebody else might want to use the cots but if they dont speak up in advance we leave them behind. You are a Scout Master and you dont have a mess kit?!?
I have a couple of mess kits and various other cooking stuff that I can bring.

Good luck to all who get up there. Don't freeze your ### off and have fun with 4 days of trout fishing!

What time are you guys leaving in the morning. I'm thinking about leaving late on Thursday night and fish some of those streams on the way up the 395...
As for gear, I have everything I need. I have an extra tent also if we need it. I'll bring my propane bbq so we can cook trout!

We are leaving Thursday night at around midnight, skipping the traffic and should be fishing somewhere in the Owens valley by sun up.
It would be hella-cool if we all got up there Friday morning!

I don't think I have any more spots for cars at my site, but I could make room for another tent. Also, Mark has that huge tent he's bringing. I think the main limitation we're going to have will be with parking spaces. Best thing to do would be to reserve another spot in that campground ASAP so you're guaranteed a spot for your car. Every trip we generally end up with lots of vehicles.
Well, if you don't have anything, here's the short list for you and 2 sons -
3 Sleeping Bags
3
Personal items Sleeping Pads
1 Tent *
Paper plates
Paper/plastic cups
Plastic utensils
Food
A couple pots/pans
Warm Clothes **
Fire starter *******
Fishing Gear!
* 4 person tent minimum since you'll need extra room for clothes and things.
** Don't forget this one, there's a good chance the temp could dip into the 30s at night or early morning. I also bring rain gear just to be safe.
*** Let me tell you, it's hard to make fire without a lighter or matches. We learned this from experience one trip LOL
**** Soap, toothpaste, etc...
This is a basic list and it's missing some things, but if you're planning on joining the rest of us, we always share the cool camping gear we have.
Last year, Chris actually went up there with only a small tent, a sleeping bag, and his clothes!!! We had Sean's dad at camp last year which was awesome!!! He did all the cooking and it was great stuff!
