santa monica pier - California Fishing

has anyone fished the sm pier or the surf? any reports? ill be out there for the next 2 1/2 weeks or so. any tips?

the surf should be pretty good. try the gulp sandworms in camo.

Last time I was there corbina loved ramming into your toes, try ghost shrimp. Look for a thread 6# shovelnose contest, lots of fun. But, no matter what be careful out there, there have been reports of contaminated water and sewer leaks unreported to the public. A good shower at the beach after fishing would be a good choice.

Bud, just get out there and give it a shot. Many times, every will be skunkin it up and one guy will get 3 fish in 20mins. Piers are spontaneous like that. Just grab a friend, hook him by the lip and toss him in. It's all about chance with the piers.
