Oregon fishery news for this week(Salmon)
PORTLAND, OR—The popular " Buoy 10" fall salmon fishery at the mouth of the Columbia River opens Sunday, August 1.
Run sizes are expected to be slightly down from last year, with chinook projected at 634,900 fish, compared to last year's 885,000. Coho are projected at 260,000, compared to more than 500,000 last year.
"Buoy 10"anglers have a two-salmon daily limit, of which only one may be a chinook, and all coho must have a healed adipose fin-clip, which indicates they are hatchery fish.
