i cant keep plecos with my green sunfish ( unless the pleco is 15 inches or so lol) they usually kill the medium sized ones.

Yes they are introduced. I believe they come from South America, thank you Pleco, and are nearly impossible to get to breed in an aquarium so they have to either be bred in HUGE ponds or taken from the wild.

Yeah I wasn't sure if they were or not. Do you have any different kinds of plecos like the vampire, bristle nose, gold nugget, rubber lip, etc...?

Hey Plec girl, haven't introduced myself yet, I'm Tony"PlatinumHooks" glad you're aboard. Haven't been on the site for about a month, and just trying to catch up with the new members. It's nice to have fellow Sport Fishers who are aquarists also!! Bryson whas correct for the most part when he said Plecostomus are from South America.....about 80% of all known Pleco species are from south and central america. About 20% of the rest are found in the central to southern central African countries and also in Asia, mostly Indonesia......not trying to be Geeky about the subject, just thought you might like to know. Great to have an out of state angler on the site!
