san pedro

well i got to san pedro today with my dad and got on the rocks. a lot of other guys were here and werent catching anything. this kids dad went off to the other rocks which were really far away and his line ripped so i just fixed it for him. later he caught about 6 perch and 2 jacksmelt on mussel. i caught about 9 perch and 2 jacksmelt total and my dad caught 5 perch and 1 jacksmelt. it was really windy so it was hard to cast my surf fishing rod. i tried cut chicken and all i caught were big crabs that kept letting go when i pulled them out and jacksmelt. i got a lot of bites but they got away with the bait. kind of sad. there was this guy who was moving to the smaller rocks to fish on and seagulls everywhere came and ate his doritos, took his jacksmelt, and almost knocked his little tacklebox over but the handle was stuck on the rock. poor guy. well i went home and headed for redondo pier but it was about 5:45 so i just went home and im going to head out for the pier tommorow. i also tried pea's for the perch but i didnt get any bites at all. do peas really work? and are you allowed to fish on the beach at redondo? i didnt have a camera so i didnt get to get pictures. they werent that big they were all ranging at about 11" and 12" from head to tail. well thats my report cya.

Peas work really well for Opal Eye perch. Use frozen peas not canned they seem to be much tougher.
