I dont think I am interested in the "opener" but I may run up in mid or late March to hit some of the sandtraps and creeks in Southern Inyo. Memorial Day weekend somewhere near Bishop for sure and I may be heading up again sometime in July/August to the Mammoth June lake loop area.
Labor day weekend should also be a possiblility for the tourney again...

Does anyone know how the snowpack is this year so far?
With the lack of precipitation so far the creeks might not be in very good shape by even mid summer.

That's one of the things I was worried about. I'm going to plan as many trips early in the season as I can for that reason. Check out the graphs -

I just got off the phone with my employer and they are saying that right now I only have 24 hours of vacation time available!
There has GOT to be some kind of screw up! I am making them check the contract and requesting a printout just to make sure.

That's not good! Hopefully they just missed something.

I'm hoping to be able to do some backcountry stuff this year as well. I still haven't caught a golden trout from the sierras and I also want to spend some time exploring the small streams we fish on our way up...

I am pretty sure that I only used 40hrs last year and I should have gotten at LEAST another 40hrs as of the end of October.

So far, I'm tentatively planning on being up in Mammoth sometime in Mid July unless it conflicts with a trip to Hawaii. Nothing else planned, but I do hope to go more than once this year. Last year was my first time fishing the Sierras and I had a ball.

Okay besides the Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend trips it looks like I will also be going up July 26th-29th.
That trip I will probibly stay down in the valley of the middle fork of the San Juaquin (Devil's Postpile area), I did not get to fish Sotcher lake or the San Juaquin river last year so this year for sure.
