I really suggest getting it at a local tackle shop. Building a relationship with the store leads to great info., tips, and deals. Bass Pro Shops may be cheaper, but you can't get the info. on what's hot and where the bite is. Being so young, hopefully old timers take you under their wing and show you the ropes.

Go to the DFG (Department of Fish & Game). Their 5% cheeper than any other place. I went there and picked mine up last week. The prices went up. I believe 37.50 for a license. I think I paid like $32 or $34 for mine. I cant remember because I purchased a second rod stamp and a Delta stamp at the same time. Everything came out to a little over $50.

Of coarse Spooky, it would just be outright dull if I didn't.
Any Sporting good store should have them available. Be sure to add the ocean fishing sticker and extra fishing rod sticker if you wish to do so. Price should come around to $55/year.

Just to kick in my two cents, almost any place that sells tackle will carry a license.
