Well to answer the question for the Trout forum question, it was just one of those days. Met up with Gerald and had breakfast at Denny's before what was hoped to be a great day of stealhead fishing! Arrived to SARL at 0500 and to our surprise the line was LONG. Gates opened at 0601 and there was a mad dash to the lake. Flew to our spot at the net on Chris' Pond. Casted our some PB on one pole and fished Lip RipperZ on another pole. The bite started off really slow and Gerald got one small one on the powerbait pole. Then I got a rat on the powerbait pole. Both were rainbows, and we were wondering where all the stealhead were. Later on in the day, the wind picked up and started blowing, and blowing, and blowing. As I predicted, it only got worse as the day progressed. Ended the day catching about 8 and releasing 7, all but one were caught on Lip RipperZ. The biggest was about 2 pounds, all rainbows. No one around us was catching fish, and when they did, it was a rainbow. By the way, I love this board!

It was a fun day, and I can't wait to hookup to my first lloyd!

8 fish is pretty good, I guess when you pay $18 though you expect a little more...It's a lot of fun hoping for that 20 pounder to bite your line!

Hey Bob, I'm getting so frustrated! Haha. I've fished SARL steadily for the past four years and can't catch a fish (catfish included) over four pounds! I'm going crazy! LOL

just go when they have a good stocking of nice fish, your chances will be better. Don't trip on never landing the lloyd, many have been in that category there.

Sierra opener would be a good chance as well as the upcoming derby.
