Twist Lock Rod Rack by Berkley

I like to have a rod and reel for every occasion. Rods for surf fishing, pierfishing, drop shotting, jerkbaiting. Rods for 12#, 15#, 20# and so on. Not only for me, but for my wife, MrsBeachBear, as well. The end result is the need for space.

But, not all rods are 2 piece. And not all rods fit vertical against the wall. The only solution for me was to go horizontal.

But even then not all rods have the same girth as others. The rod below is a Seeker Black Steel that I had customized by Sythe Creations to put on an aftco black metal reel seat. Even though it is very wide, it fit.

The kit includes a bolt package for attaching to wood, walls, or even cars.

The foam inside the frame is easy to take out and allow for any modifications that may need be. (I had to for the customized Black Steel). Plus, they hold all sizes of rods very snugly without fear of falling out. If you're still worried then there are the twist caps.

They're easy to use when the rods are placed inside, not any sort of ring-necking is needed.

PROS
*Very versatile
-can be installed on wood, walls, and cars. All screws are provided for, saves a trip to the local hardware store. They also stack very well.
*Very durable
-not ease to scratch, frame is made of a sturdy plastic
*Made by a very good standing company, trust means a lot.
-the box says, "Strength and reliability guaranteed"
*Foam is soft and won't scratch, but will hold tight by itself.
*Secure twist locking caps
-very easy to use and don't slip out of place

CONS
*Only fits 4 rods

Overall, I really like it and it can make a nice Christmas gift. Price was $11.95 and can be bought in several places. I've seen them at Sav-On Tackle and Fishermen's Hardware Long Beach.

I might have to get a few of these. I wasn't really into fishing until you got hooked. Then I caught the bug.

I went from having 1 set up that was used for trout, catfish, and anything else that swims to 3 ultra lights, 2 catfish set-ups, 2 trout set-ups, and one spare just in case. And, I'm looking to improve my trout set-ups.

Oh yeah, I had one tackle box for everything. Now I have a tackle bag for trout, catfish, and my ultra lights.

Damn it! Oh well, there's always tech hours to pay for the gear.

Thanks, when I wrote this I remember seeing it somewhere else, but couldn't remember. Damn thing stuck in my head, like when you can't remember a song. All I rememebered is I saw it on the bottom shelf that was carpetted. Later on I remembered, but there's no editing ( hmmm, hmm CST). People would ask where I bought and just thought I should just start putting it in, save the hassle of a reply or PM.

Good news for you, BeachBear: there's a solution to your "con."

We just came out with a new Jumbo Combo Rod Rack. It holds six combos and has the same twist-lock mechanism so you can store the rods vertically or horizontally.

Look in your favorite tackle shops for them now.

Thank you catcherman, it looks pretty cool. I like the bright colors which will make aiming the rods in easier during low light conditions. I only said it as a con, because I have another Berkley Rod Rack that holds 6. I also needed one more hole to put a rod in. So now I have my second Twist Lock with only 1 rod. Easy fix, I'll buy more rods.

I almost got the white one too. I had measured the play center and found that the one I reviewed would be a little better fit. Plus, since it's flat, it'll stack evenly so when I need to add more.
