Surf 'N Creel by albackore

Out on the surf it is very peaceful and relaxing. Probably one of the most serene experiences in life is being out on the water casting away watching the sun gently rise. However, your gear is probably not enjoying what you are. Whether by fish or by weather your gear is taking abuse. When it’s not getting set in sand sitting in the sun, it’s taking hit after hit from the ocean waves scratching away with its’ sand. That’s why after Sinjin’s seminar I got the albackore Surf ‘N Creel bag.

FLEXABLE POWER. That’s how I’d describe the Surf ‘N Creel bag. Why? The Surf ‘N Creel has the size to accommodate 2 of its tackle boxes. That is if you take out the cooler/catch bag. Not many bags come with a catch bag and having one is not just for your keepers. You can use it as a cooler to keep your lunch warm, keep your bait from rotting in the sun, protecting your electronics from the waves and whatever else you can think of. Being an angler I know how crafty we can be.

If you keep the cooler/catch bag in place there’s still plenty of room. There are several pockets and lots of space. The front pocket is a mesh pocket making what you want even easier to get at and has Velcro to help keep it closed. I’ve seen many bags on tackle store shelves knowing that one rogue wave is all it takes to make them a sponge.

The Surf ‘N Creel comes with a built in cup holder, built in pliers holder, and 2 heavily stitched support straps. One support strap is around the shoulders and the other is around your waist. You can use one or the other and not feel the other not in use. For those anglers who tend to move their bag when casting the waist strap is great for keeping the bag in place during casting. Use both and you have a great working area for getting new baits and more fish. The shoulder strap pad is a feature by itself. It is very long and wide which comes in very hard to slip off the shoulder and handy for a long day of walking the beach looking for the “Honey Hole”.

POWER. This thing has it. I lean my second rod on it and don’t have to worry about the bag falling over or collapsing and leaving my reel buried in the sand. It was made to take the hits and make you not worry about it surviving and hurting your fishing experience. Even the bottom of the bag is extra thick and denser material.

It was made for the angler who loves to wade in and get your toes wet. Taking shots from the waves doesn’t affect this bag. Water comes off easily and objects inside stay dry. The stitching and materials are top notch. There was no skimping on materials or craftsmanship. Meeting Jeff Jost of albackore you can tell that a kind man tells no tales and sells no whales.

Being out on the waves current and conditions change minute by minute. For quality, durability, and flexibility then the Surf ‘N Creel is perfect. albackore is a name you can trust and looks to set you apart. I know there’s plenty of other features that I’m probably not aware of, but I don’t work for them, I’m just a fan of them.

I have that bag and the 3rd Grip creel bag. I like both, but having that flexability makes the Surf 'N Creel edge over it. I do like the way the 3rd Grip fits with the 3rd Grip pole holster, but that can also fit with the Surf 'N Creel. Both great companies and people you can trust. For halibut using plastics to dropshot or jerkbaits to cast make the Surf 'N Creel my choice based on size. For YFC, I'll go with the 3rd Grip because I need less space, just grubs and small plastics. Both aren't a bad bag to have though. I want to get another Surf 'N Creel and have MrsBeachBear embroidered on it as a X-mas gift for my wife. That way she can't say, "You REALLY bought two for you."

Great report BBear. If the bag had a 3rd grip type pole holder i'd definetly get one. Is anyone familier with Canyon surf bags, they look pretty useful?

Thanks bro' will do. My Caroloma Ling had some writer craft moves, but needed punctuation editing. It was late and I was sleepy, should have just done it the next day. For this one I wanted to focus on some craft moves that I haven't used in some time. I'm happy about this work and had been wanting to create something for awhile. The last site I wrote for didn't compensate enough to keep writing. Fishing as a hobby makes writing more enjoyable, less stress most of the time. It is nice to be trained in writing. I use the pieces I write in class with my students when I introduce a new craft move.
