I'd be interested. I live about a half hour from Castaic. What day were you planning to go?

Hey, getting skunked at Quail Lake is almost guaranteed. A few years ago, I kept hearing tales about big stripers and catfish taken from Quail Lake. After about five trips, all I caught was a 6" bass. I have a suspicion that this lake might fish better at night--something I never tried.

we were there at night. there are some big catfish and striper in there but all i've managed to catch are the schoolie striper. anyway i'm heading back out today most likely do a pyramid/quail or castaic/quail combo.

I once met an old-timer kind of guy(kind of like me but with less tread on his tires, so to speak)at Pyramid who said him and his buddy used to catch some mofo stripers at Quail Lake using saltwater bloodworms--up to 15 pounds. This was a few years ago, back in the Dark Ages before Berkeley Gulp! I'm thinking that the Gulp! bloodworm might be a good striper bait--maybe even catch a few catfish. It may even be the cure for the common skunk!
