Hows the trout fishing this time of year? What do people seem to be catching them off of? Are there any lake fees?

Hey Limitedout, fished today for a couple hours for nothing. been hitting it couple times a week . No.shore, sail boat, east shore and even back by the swim beach. hopefully the bite will pick up soon. Thats if they dont change the water level agian. Last week did happen to catch the largest crappie i had ever seen. 2.4lbs on a digetal scale. got her on the drop shot.
Hope to see ya out there someday. Till then tight lines.

Hey demented, the last trout plant actually put some descent 10-13 inch trout into the lake. Its usually good for a week before they get fished out and the cormorants/pelicans get a whack at em. When they do bite, most guys fish em in the swim beach cove or the east shore cove, just look for the people crowding each other. 2.5lb crappie wow, I haven't seen one since the one I caught that big when I was 14! Yea, the lake level is really low and i hope all those damn rock piles we've been building end up underwater by spawn time. I'm going back tomorrow so I'll post a report. Oh yea right now they're operating on winter hours, they charge on sat/sun and holidays, weekdays are free, but I think you still have to pay for boat/float tube launch. starting March 1st they charge 6 bucks every day.

Remember 1 March the hours of operation change and the lake stays open till 10pm. Lets see how the north shore gets hammered this year. Last year it seem like the invasion of Normandy as soon as the boat house was cleared. But im guilty too. Caught alot of big fish, seemed like they were cut from the same mold. (4lb.avg)

What cost you $45.00? They charged you to get out? I would have stayed all night and fished. Would have been cheaper.

Hi Gerald,
I wish I could have fished all night We had to leave through a backgate since the front was locked. The $45 was for a parking violation i.e. beyond park hours. For years I had fished there and the Park Police would always come by and tell us the park was closing. There is a change in hours in fall (and back in spring). It happened just after this change over and I happened to be there at the wrong time. ..and when a gung ho person was on duty.
