Suisun Bay Report 9/21/06

SUISUN: Jordona Santiago of Martinez Bait & Tackle reported good fishing
this week. Stripers are still being caught from the Martinez Pier and
shoreline with anchovies, grass shrimp and bullhead. Sturgeon are being
found at both ends of the Mothball Fleet. The tides for the weekend are
pretty good throughout.
Catching stripers were Gale Winterroth of Washington (25 inches) in
Benicia on bullhead, Pepe Dalestrieri of Martinez (two totaling 56
inches) from the shoreline on an anchovies/grass shrimp combo, Steve
Schadegg of Pleasant Hill (two totaling 40 inches) from the shoreline on
anchovies and Mike Bowles of Antioch (36 inches, 15 pounds) at Buoy 2 on
a bullhead.
Jeremy Kangas of Martinez caught and released six sturgeon between 48
and 70 inches this week. All were caught between buoys 4 and 6 with eel
and grass shrimp. Joseph Rojas of Sacramento caught a 56-inch, 45-pound
sturgeon from the last row of ships (east end) on ghost shrimp.
