Rogue River Report and Oregon stuff

Alright well here's my report from the rogue river. I went out with the Vice President, Andy, of Setyr Rods and a film crew from a local fishing show in Washington on a guided steelhead and salmon trip on the mouth of the rouge river. We fished alongside of about 65 other boats (literally, I have pics) and fishing the whole week before that was supposively wide open, but the fish just really didn't want to play today, we saw a total of about 5 fish caught the whole day. I was able however to bring in a nice 12# coho salmon, but unfortuantely I couldn't keep it because this isn't the right time of year or something like that. Even so it was still an accomplishment. After that I did a photoshoot for Setyr's new line of saltwater rods, and take it from me, they are HOT! The blank, the guides, the wraps, omg a true work of art, im getting my hands on one of these things asap.

Anyway, as far as the trip goes, I had a pretty fun time, and I needed a vacation badly, it helped get my mind off a lot of things. Hopefully next year i'll be able to go back and land a salmon I can keep. Thanks for everyone's help, and especially Tony and Jim and Andy's of Setyr.

You're Welcome Sean, anytime. That is truely a beautiful fish. Like Jim told me; pulling that Coho out of the Rogue at this time of year and a place on the water that they just aren't thinking about food, was a great accomplishment for you. Look at it this way.... with that one fish, you caught 50% of your legal limit up there in Oregon! lol.

Also, I know exactly what rods you're talking about.... I have two of them in my possesion and boy are they beautiful.

Setyr doesn't make a Parabolic mandril

Mine aren't that heavy...they're in the same series...they're my surf rods 6-12# and 8-15# (for jerkbaits)

Yea this rod (the 20-40) was medium heavy for me so if I hook a big fish I wont break my back, thats why the rod is perfect for me. All of the rods too that I photographed are extremely light, another thing I liked about them.

That's a nice fish. Congrats on Pic of The Week. Does anyone know of a store that sells Setyr rods in Southern Cal? I really like my Setyr rod and want one for the deep blue.
